Mr Puigdemont earlier called for talks to take place in Brussels, where he is living in self-imposed exile. Separatist parties won a majority in a Thursday's snap regional election. His comments came after  a UN General Assembly vote effectively repudiated Washington's controversial declaration . Meanwhile, two Palestinians were killed in clashes with Israeli troops amid fresh protests over Jerusalem's status.
